Visiting us for the First Time?

  • Pieces only books advanced reservations for private party rooms, seating groups of 8 to 60.

  • If you do not pre-book a private room, our main gaming/dining room is first-come, first-served seating. You can, however, check the YELP app to see if we are on a wait and get on our waitlist on real time if no tables are available! Yelp is a third-party app.

  • How to use the Yelp App: Around the time you want to visit us, search “Pieces” on the Yelp App. If there are available tables at the time you check the app, it will say “come right in!” If we are busy and on a wait for tables, the app will let you know and you can get in line remotely! This is a real-time app, so use it on the day/night you’re looking to visit. Be sure to refresh the app when you are checking to see if we are on a wait. PLEASE IGNORE ESTIMATED WAIT TIMES. The board game concept does not lend itself to accurate wait times. Instead, the app has a handier tool that actually allows you to see your place in line. So if you're 1st to 5th in line, we would recommend you start heading over to Pieces. If you're further down the line, you may have some time to head over.

  • We have happy hour Wednesday through Friday from 4pm to 6pm. This includes $4 wines, $4 craft draft beers, $4 cocktail mixers, and $4 full-sized apps. It is very rare for us to be on a wait for tables during our happy hours. If you prefer to avoid potential lines and want to save money, we highly recommend visiting us during these specific days/times.

  • We serve brunch from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

  • Pieces is surrounded by metered parking. The City of St. Louis meters until 7pm on the street. There is a large 24-hour parking lot across the street from Pieces. This lot is run by the City and costs $1 per hour. The lot meters past 7pm. There is free street parking on S. 9th Street and Lafayette Avenue (three blocks from our location).

  • Because we are a full service restaurant and bar the health department does not allow us to permit guests bringing outside food (including cakes) for cross-contamination and food safety reasons. Along with the City’s prohibition, we are also very cautious about topical allergens getting on the games. We have a lot of clientele (especially children) who have severe peanut allergies. As a result, we make sure none of the food we make at Pieces is processed in the same facility as peanuts. Although we sanitize our games regularly, we like to be safe, as even just the slightest touch of cross-contamination could injure someone with that allergy.

  • We do not have a cover! If you’re just popping in to eat and drink and not play games, we function like a normal restaurant and bar. However, if you want to play games, there is a sliding scale $5.00 library fee per person to access our 950+ games. You can play as many as you would like. For every item an individual purchases, one dollar is removed from the individual's library fee. Thus, if you were to purchase two drinks, the library fee would be reduced to $3.00.  If someone were to purchase 5 drinks, then the library fee is waived. We apply these fees at the end after calculating all items purchased. We use all of our library fees to buy new games, replace missing pieces, and refurbish damaged boards.

  • Guests under the age of 21 are welcome at all times. We do, however, have a strict policy in requiring guests to show a state issued ID or passport if you attempt to order an alcoholic beverage.
